The Art of Kintsugi

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing pottery with gold, celebrating cracks as part of its unique history. It symbolises resilience, strength in imperfections and embracing life’s scars. At Kintsugi OT, we take the same approach by helping individuals build on their strengths, adapt to challenges and thrive in their own unique way

The Art and Science of Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy helps people with disability, injuries and mental health challenges develop skills, gain independence and improve their quality of life. OTs work alongside individuals to overcome physical, mental or developmental challenges, supporting them in daily activities that bring purpose and fulfillment. Kintsugi OT provides no fuss, everyday OT for adults and adolescents, focusing on practical solutions that make a real difference.

Meet Nic: The OT Who Gets Things Done

Nic is an experienced and passionate Occupational Therapist who graduated with honours from the University of Newcastle in 2015. He began his career working in WorkCover insurance, aged care and DVA, gaining a diverse foundation of experience. Now, Nic runs a mobile OT service for adults and older adolescents (17+), specialising in assessments, sensory modulation and short-term life skills development programs.

What sets Nic apart is his no-nonsense, results-driven approach. With a strong background spanning multiple funding schemes, Nic offers practical solutions and a unique perspective to his work. Known for cutting through the fluff, one client described him perfectly: “Nic’s a practical OT, not an artsy-fartsy OT.” Whether supporting everyday challenges or navigating complex presentations, Nic focuses on straightforward, effective strategies that deliver real results.

Outside of work, Nic is a proud dad and fitness enthusiast. He enjoys staying active, whether it’s working out at the gym, playing sports, or exploring Lake Macquarie and Redhead Beach with his two daughters.
